With deep love and sadness, we announce the passing of Sonja Sue Smith, beloved mother, grandmother, sister and friend on May 24, 2026.Sonja was born in St. Louis Missouri on November 21, 1941 to James Blaine & June Welmering and died at the age of 84. Sonja was preceded in death by her father, James Blaine Welmering, her mother, June Edwards Welmering and her sister Virginia "Ginger" Fielding and is survived by her children, Suzanne Marie Perkins, Sandra Lea Stanley, James Blaine Williams and her grandchildren, Peyton Renee Williams and J.B. Williams and her two sisters, Martha Reid and Linda Rolfe as well as many nieces and nephews.Service will be held on June 2, 2026 at 2:00pm in Wildwood Chapel at Restland Memorial Funeral Home, 13005 Greenville Ave, Dallas, TX 75243.
