Sonja Yvette Williams' Obituary
Sonja Yvette Williams age 57 born and raised in Dallas, TX was a loving mother, daughter, sister and grandmother. She transitioned from this life to her eternal home October 5th2023, in Dallas, TX. She was born to Camellia Genevieve Shirley and Tommy Williams on April 18th, 1966. Raised with her sister Ambree Williams. During her elementary school years, she attended St. Anthony Private, Charles Rice and Martha Turner Riley. Middle school Robert T Hill, Lincoln High School and finished her education at the Business Management Center where she graduated 1984. She enjoyed hosting celebrations with family and friends, spending time with her children and grandchildren, traveling, cooking, live theater, movies, music, fine dining, shopping, and reading books. She was known for her loving, positive, and energetic energy. Also being a great mother and friend. She would be quick to help anyone in need, lend a listening ear and give great sound advice. Growing up she attended the family church Kirkwood C.M.E and later followed her mother becoming a member of North Dallas Community Bible Fellowship. As a faithful member she joined the welcome committee. She assisted her son Jerrod graduating with his masters at University of Texas at El Paso. Her granddaughter Jaila attends Southern University in Baton Rouge Louisiana, and her granddaughter Marcela attends Texas Woman’s University in Denton Texas. She is survived by her children Jerrod, Justion, and Jillion. Grandchildren Jaila, Marcela, Roman and Abraham. Her parents Camellia Genevieve Pero(who preceded her in glory); Father Tommy Williams; Uncle Roderick Shirley and Aunt Prayoon Shirley; Aunt Hoa Shirley, Sister Ambree Williams, Nieces Aubree and Ashlen Coleman, Cousin Jon Shirley, and a host of close family members and friends she cherished throughout her lifetime. Her legacy will continue to shine through us.
