Soundra Faye McDuff's Obituary
Soundra Faye McDuff was born to the parentage of Vernon Lee Board and Lillie Mae Board (Randle) on June 11, 1942 in Dallas, Texas. She was the fifth of seven children.
Soundra received her education in the Dallas Independent School District, graduating from Booker T. Washington High School in 1960. She later attended Eastfield College, receiving a Bachelor’s Degree in Child Development.
At an early age, she united in Holy Matrimony with David M. McQueen. From this union four sons were born: David Tarnard, twins Jarryl and Darryl, and Aaron Ray. Years later, she met and married R. B. McDuff.
Her career included being employed with Western Electric for 17 years, working with Child Protective Services and then moving to The Child Care Group where she retired. She loved holding seminars for various daycare centers, training and educating the employees in early childhood education, child development, and safety procedures. She loved engaging with the staff and encouraging them in their field.
While retired she remained active in her community. Soundra worked with the Dallas County Elections as a poll worker and a Presiding Election Judge. She loved helping others, whenever she saw a need she would always find a way to fix it. She was also active with her friends, meeting up to eat and fellowshipping with everyone.
Soundra was affiliated with several churches: Page’s Temple COGIC (First Pentecostal COGIC), Greater Harvest COGIC, Victory Temple COGIC, Kingdom Harvest COGIC, Greater Davis Chapel COGIC and New Generation Holiness Church. She served faithfully at each church in different capacities: Choir, Praise and Worship Leader, Missionary Board, Mothers Board, Bible Study teacher and Program Coordinator. She loved church and most of all, she loved the Lord with all her heart.
