Dr. Stanley Ashworth's Obituary
Dr. Stanley (Stan) Warren Ashworth died peacefully surrounded by his family, on October 12th in Dallas, TX at the age of 73. Stan is survived by his wife, Karon Ashworth; children, Amy Davis and Emily Reed; son in law, John Reed; grandchildren, Jeffery Davis II, Dylan Davis and Jacob Davis; siblings, Taylor Ashworth and Bob Ashworth; and many cousins, nieces, nephews and extended family members. He is preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Dorothy Ashworth and his brother John Michael Ashworth and niece Elizabeth Ashworth. Stan was born on August 30, 1944 in Dallas, TX to Charles and Dorothy Ashworth. He graduated from Woodrow Wilson High School, University of North Texas and Baylor Dental College. Stan started his dental journey with Dr. Guy Keeter, DDS until he opened his own private practice. After retiring from private practice, Stan became a professor at Baylor Dental College. He was highly respected by his colleagues and students alike, earning the prestigious title of “Professor of the Year” in his second year. He also served on numerous boards throughout his tenure. In 1978, Stan married Karon McNeil and in the process happily gained two daughters, Amy and Emily. He enjoyed being outdoors and golfing, fishing and making the yard beautiful. He especially loved being with his family. One of his greatest joys was being with his three grandchildren, Jeffery, Dylan and Jake. He was their “Grampy” and they loved him dearly. A memorial is scheduled for October 21st at 11:00 AM at Restland Funeral Home, Memorial Chapel.
