Stella Elaine Turnipseed's Obituary
Stella Elaine Tackitt Turnipseed, age 84, of The Colony, Texas died on Monday, May 31st, 2021 from complications of dementia in Pilot Point, Texas. Elaine was born on March 26th, 1937 in Dallas, Texas to Thomas Hugh Tackitt & Stella Lee Miller.
Elaine grew up in Dallas & attended Forest Avenue High School. She married Patrick Anderson Turnipseed on May 6th, 1967 in Dallas. Together they had two sons. Elaine had many interests in life. She enjoyed attending church, nature, reading, embroidery, working crosswords, cooking, collecting beautiful objets d’art, outings with friends & getting together with family. She spent the majority of her working life at Kemper Insurance before moving on to Marsh McLennan towards the end of her career in insurance.
Elaine is survived by her son Mark of The Colony, Texas & three grandsons, Austin, Justin & Michael; one sister, Linda Jean Acker & husband Robert, & numerous family & friends. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of fifty-two years, Patrick Turnipseed, parents, Thomas & Stella Miller Tackitt, one sister Julia Anne Tackitt & an infant son who died soon after birth.
Visitation for Elaine will be held on Sunday, June 6th, 2021 from 2:00 to 4:00 pm at Restland Funeral Home. Funeral services for Elaine will be held at Wildwood Chapel in Restland Memorial Park on Monday, June 7th, 2021 at 2:00 pm with burial afterwards at Restland Cemetery in Dallas.
