Stellene Cox age 62 of Garland Texas passed from this world on August 30, 2020, after a battle with cancer. Known to all as “Cissy”, she was born November 26, 1957 in Dallas County, Texas, the second child of Otis Horton and Betty Billingsley Cox. Cissy attended Navarro Junior College in Corsicana and later earned her 2-year degree in counseling from Eastfield College. She was employed 42 years with 7-Eleven Inc.
Cissy was a master scuba diver, and motorcycle enthusiast. She took many trips with her friends and was an active member of the North Texas Patriot Guard and East Texas Patriot Guard Riders. She competed yearly at the State Fair of Texas in the jams and jellies division winning seven first-place ribbons and 15 other ribbons. A natural musician, Cissy played piano at Grace fellowship in Sunnyvale for 10 years and was a member in good standing of the AA Freedom group of Mesquite, Texas, establishing her sobriety date May 1, 2006.
Cissy is survived by two Brothers Ross J. Cox Sr. and wife Rosemary of San Saba, Texas, Daniel D. Cox of Sherman, Texas, and numerous cousins’ nieces and nephews. Her remains will be interred at the Restland Cemetery in Dallas beside her father and grandparents.
A Visitation for Stellene will be held on Thursday, September 3rd, 2020 at Restland Funeral Home from 12:00PM - 2:00PM. Graveside Service the following day Friday, September 4th 2020 at 10:00AM in Restland Memorial Park, Floral Hill Garden.
