Stephen James Lipsett's Obituary
Stephen James Lipsett lived a vibrant life that touched everyone around him. He left this earthly world on September 1st, 2025, from his home in Granbury, Texas. Stephen was born in Dallas on August 10th, 1954, to his parents Robert and Helen Lipsett, being the younger brother by seven years to Robert Crawford Lipsett. Stephen was a self-made man, spending his adult life acquiring real estate. He lived frugally in order to buy property and offer it for rent to the community of South Fort Worth. Along the way he helped many others learn how to do the same in order to achieve financial independence. Steve had a way of connecting with people of all backgrounds. He valued what others had to say and built lasting friendships. Stephen spent many years working with his closest friends to create the Southside Preservation Hall where the neighborhood can join in community. He was especially fond of dancing at their monthly Big Band event. That’s where he met Kathy who also loved to dance. Steve had many hobbies. He particularly loved to ride motorcycles both on and oƯ road and was skilled at hill climbs. Steve was an exceptional water skier, cutting across the wake so fast that he would shoot ahead of the tow boat. He was a spectacular foosball player, excellent at pool, table tennis, and played the trumpet. Steve will be remembered by all those around him whom he made a deep and lasting impact on. He is survived by his brother, Robert Crawford, nephew Robert Alexander, grand-nephew Robert Crawford, and cousins who were dear to him. Services will be held at Restland Funeral Home & Cemetery, 13005 Greenville Ave., Dallas, TX. Visitation begins at 1:00pm on Saturday September 13th with the service at 2:00pm and graveside at 3:00pm. There will be a reception at the Southside Preservation Hall, 1519 Lipscomb Street, Fort Worth, TX, from 6:00 to 9:00pm. Donations can be made to the Southside Preservation Hall in his name.
