Stephen C. Mackey's Obituary
STEPHEN C. MACKEY Loving son and brother, born October 28, 1955 in Dallas, Texas and passed away suddenly on August 31, 2009 after a 17 year long and courageous battle with Parkinson’s. Steve is preceded in death by his mother, Laura C. Mackey. He is survived by his father, Jack Warner Mackey; brother, Robert Mackey; sister, Nancy Mackey; three aunts, and numerous cousins. Steve will be remembered for his never ending strength, courage and sense of humor while facing his debilitating disease. He had a great passion for country music and the Texas Longhorns. He was blessed with many caring and supportive friends and family members whom he greatly loved and appreciated. Steve was a graduate of Bishop Lynch High School, the University of Texas at Arlington and a life long member of St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church. Prior to his disability, Steve was a materials analyst for Ensearch Exploration. Recitation of the Holy Rosary will be held at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, September 3, 2009 at Restland Memorial Chapel. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, September 4, 2009 at Calvary Hill Cemetery, North Chapel. Memorials may be made to the American Parkinson Disease Association.
