Stephen Mueller's Obituary
American artist Stephen Mueller passed away on September 16, 2011 in New York, NY. He was born on September 24, 1947 in Norfolk, VA and grew up in Dallas. He studied at the University of Texas in Austin. He earned his masters at Bennington College, Vermont and took residence in New York. As a highly regarded color field painter and art critic, he has received numerous grants and fellowships. His work is represented in the collections of the Whitney Museum of American Art in New York, the Brooklyn Museum, the Denver Art Museum, and the Museum of Fine Arts in Houston. He is survived and missed by his sister Debra Pendleton of Garland, TX and his mother Frances Mueller of Richardson, TX, as well as countless friends and colleagues all over the country. Memorial Services will be held in Dallas on Saturday, October 1, 2011 at Restland Wildwood Chapel. An additional service will be held in East Village, NY.
