Stephen George Rice's Obituary
RICE, STEPHEN GEORGE Of Plano, TX passed away 5-8-2011 surrounded by his family. Born December 24, 1940 to Stephen Rice and Loretta Pratt Rice in Trenton NJ. He was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife of nearly 45 years Sue Margaret Lehman Rice and two daughters Sabrina Olay & husband Michael (Edmond, OK) and Sarah Cook & husband C.R. (Plano, TX). And 4 grandchildren Jonathan & Lauren Olay and Jacob & Ashley Cook. And a brother David Rice & wife Marty (Walnut Creek, CA) and brother-in-law Philip D. Lehman Jr. & wife Sydney as well as several nieces and nephews. Along with countless other relatives, friends and neighbors. Steve graduated from Neshaminy High School in 1959 and later attended Drexel Institute of Technology in Philadelphia. Steve married Sue in 1966 and moved to Dallas. Steve spent the later part of his life self-employed following many years of service with Pecora and active membership in Construction Specification Institute. He found joy in serving others and was very active volunteering with VOAD and COAD in the North Texas Area. He also served on the Board with Jewish Family Services and was an active member of the Methodist Men at CUMC. Visitation will be held at Restland Funeral Home Wed. 5/11 from 6 – 8 pm with graveside on Thursday at 11 am followed by a Celebration of Life at 1:30 pm at Christ United Methodist Church of Plano, 3101 Coit Road Plano TX 75075. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Christ United Methodist Church – Methodist Men at 3101 Coit Road Plano TX 75075 or Jewish Family Service 5402 Arapaho Road Dallas TX 75248.
