Sterling Murell Lowry's Obituary
Sterling Murell Lowry, age 50, passed away November 14, 2017 of natural causes in Grand Island, NE where he was working out of town. He took pride in his work as a Millwright for multitudes of power plants all over the US and worked with a great crew who were like a second family. Known as ‘Brother’ and ‘Uncle’ to many beyond his family, he could become friends with anyone with his magnetic personality. Sterling never met a stranger and was loved by many. His laughter was infectious, and in a room full of strangers he was the life of the party and made you fall in love with him for life. He rarely showed his emotions, but if you were one of the lucky few to have his heart, you had his loyalty to the end. He was born on June 30, 1967 in Fort Worth and grew up in Dallas where he graduated from Woodrow Wilson HS. Sterling was a dog-lover who was passionate about hunting, golfing, boating, NASCAR, and spending time with friends and family at the lake house. He is preceded in death by his father, Robert ‘Bob’ Lowry Sr. Survived by his mother, Susie Lowry; by his brother, Rob Lowry; sister-in-law, Sharon Lowry; Nephew, Reed Lowry; Niece, Rachel Lowry; and extended family in Houston and San Antonio, Texas and Springfield, Missouri. The family will receive friends from 1-2:30 pm with the funeral service to begin at 2:30 pm on Saturday, November 25, 2017 in the Memorial Chapel at Restland Funeral Home. Following the funeral and graveside services, A Celebration of Life will be held at the Becker home, 8417 Sweetwood, Dallas, Texas, 75228. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made in Sterling Lowry’s honor. Patriot Paws is a charity that works with our wounded military service men and women.
