Steven Alan Chaney's Obituary
CHANEY, Steven Alan (65) of The Colony, TX, passed away peacefully at Faith Presbyterian Hospice in Dallas, TX on Sunday, June 3rd after his battle with cancer.Steven was born in Pipestone, MN on October 17th, 1952, the eldest son of Donald and Irene (Mueller) Chaney. He grew up in Sioux Falls, SD and joined the army in 1971 shortly after graduating from Lincoln High School.After the army, Steve came to Dallas, TX as a construction worker where he met and married his wife of 35 years, Carolyn Norred on November 3rd, 1984.Steve loved being outdoors. He enjoyed camping, fishing and loved the country. He especially loved animals and was known for feeding any animal that wandered onto his property.Steven will be dearly missed by his wife Carolyn Chaney and by his surviving family in Sioux Falls, SD: his mother Irene Chaney, his two brothers Greg and Doug Chaney, his nephew Codee and his two nieces Amber and Jessica and by his beloved dog Chigger.Steven was preceded in death by his father Donald Chaney.A Memorial Service for Steven Chaney in celebration of his life and friendship will be held on Friday, June 22nd at 10:00 am at the Chapel at Prestonwood Baptist Church, at 6801 W Park Blvd, Plano, TX 75093. Pastor Ben Mullen will be officiating.
