Stevie was always the life of the party. He loved life and he loved his friends and co-workers. He liked things to be done right! I will always remember, when as an apprentice at The Big R, he made it very clear to me that, in order to get my license and be a great funeral director, I would have to pass the ultimate test! That test was to "work a 3:30 pm funeral at Wildwood Chapel on August 31st in the hideous heat AND survive! I remember that that request cracked me up SO much and I could not understand why that was such a big deal. August 31st came and he scheduled me on the 3:30 Wildwood Service. He helped me do the funeral because, after all, he had to witness me going through it in order to pass the test. I made it with flying colors with sweat running down my back and every stitch of clothing on my body drenched with sweat but, you know what? He always sweated more than me so he was three times as sweaty as me. We often laughed about that day. He was a great friend and I will miss him very much! He once told me that he thought that I was one of the greatest funeral directors that he knew. This was SUCH A COMPLIMENT coming from the one that I thought was the greatest. There truly will never be another like him! R.I.P my dear friend. I will always miss you so very much but I know you are not hurting anymore and that brings me peace. I WILL see you again someday:)
