Steve Smith's Obituary
Steven John Smith, 62, of Richardson, entered into Eternal Life on February 2, 2024. He was born on September 23, 1961, to Robert L. and Marian M. Smith.
Born in Milwaukee, Wi, the family moved to Texas in 1974. Steve was 13 years old entering the 7th grade at West Junior High and graduated from Richardson High School in 1980.
Steve loved cars and decided to pursue that as his career. He was a Ferrari technician for 21 years and a crew chief on a race team for many years. Some of his hobbies were camping, scuba diving, skiing, snowboarding, watching the Texas Rangers with his mom, and Scouts. He was a Scout Master for Troop 751.
In 2011 he was diagnosed with a brain tumor (Glioblastoma). He was given a prognosis of fourteen months to five years. He beat the odds and made it to 12-1/2 years.

Steven, a loving and devoted husband, father, and son is survived by: his wife of 33 years, Nancy (Williamson); his son, Andrew Smith; his mother, Marian Smith; his brother, David Smith; his sister-in-law, Ellen Zignego Smith; nieces Rachel Smith and Rebecca Smith; his sister, Linda Tansey; his brother-in-law, Kevin Tansey; nieces Caitlin Hardy (Thomas) and Melissa Tansey; nephews Matthew Hunt (Amelia Woodman) and Christopher Hunt (Chelsey); three great-nieces, Emma Hunt, Fynlee Hardy and Darcee Hardy; and lots of Aunts, Uncles, and cousins.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30AM on Saturday, February 17, 2024, at St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church in Richardson, Texas. Family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. A reception will be held in the church's parish hall following the Mass.
