Sue F. Cummings' Obituary
Sue F. Cummings, loving wife, mother, sister, aunt, grandmother and friend, passed away peacefully in Corinth, Texas, on July 30. She was 89 years old.She was born on May 11, 1930, in Crawfordsville, Indiana, the second daughter of William David and Norma Alta Kline. After graduating from high school, she attended Indiana University before marrying Forest M. Cummings, her husband of 68 years.After living briefly in Lafayette, Indiana, she moved with her family to Cedar Rapids, Iowa, in 1952. In addition to doing various volunteer work throughout her entire life, she was a loving, supportive wife and stay-at-home mother who raised two sons. She and her family moved to Texas in 1962 and made a home in Richardson, Texas, in a house they lived in for 51 years before moving to the El Dorado Retirement community in Richardson. She was a charter member of RichTones, MADD and volunteered at local hospitals and at her church in addition to other organizations.Following a stroke in 2016, she spent the final three years of her life at the Corinth Texas Rehabilitation Suites. Her husband moved to the Autumn Oaks of Corinth Assisted Living Community so that they both could be nearby their oldest son and wife in Denton, Texas.She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Forest, a son Mike and her sister Bettie Redden.She is survived by her son Randy Cummings (Vicki) of Denton. Step grandchildren include Ryan Appleton (Stacey), Ross Appleton (Heather) and Lindsay Cavanaugh (Tom), all of Denton. She is also survived by seven great grandchildren as well as niece Marla Gladwin and nephew Scott Redden of North Little Rock, Arkansas, and nephew Mark Redden of Clearwater, Florida.She was a member of Spring Valley United Methodist Church.
