Sue Ann "Susan" Giles' Obituary
Sue Ann (Susan) Giles was born on September 25, 1945, in Dallas, Texas but moved to Winslow, Arkansas at a very young age. She was raised with seven cousins that she affectionately called her sisters. After moving back to Dallas in her teens, she graduated in 1963 from Woodrow Wilson High School. Honoring her mother’s wishes to wait until she turned eighteen, just two days after her birthday, she married the love of her life, John Lee Giles. John and Susan loved each other for 60 years and were eighteen days shy of celebrating their 58th anniversary.
Susan had a love of family, friends, the outdoors, her country, travel, and until recently, the Texas Rangers. While raising their three children, Susan and John split their time between Mount Vernon and Garland, Texas. Susan often bragged that her kids grew up in Garland but were raised on the farm in Mount Vernon.
There was seldom a weekend at the farm without extra kids in tow who she loved like her own.
Susan was received by the Lord on September 9, 2021, and was reunited with her mother, Josephine Lela Rowse and her bothers, Buddy and Paul Rowse
Left to cherish her memory are her beloved husband, John Giles, her children, Richard and wife ‘Kesa Giles, Randy and wife Stacey Giles, Robin and husband Kevin Shutter, her grandchildren John (JP) and wife Ashley Giles, Shay Shutter and fiancé Alfonso Villa, Taylor Shutter and fiancé Cody Alvarado, Brennan Shutter, Jackson Giles, and Grayson Giles, and her greatgrandchildren Holly and James Giles, Brielle, Aeriel and Luca Villa, Bella and Zayne Alvarado, and not to forget, her beloved dog, Scoop.
In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations to be made to the Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation.
