Sue White's Obituary
Sue (Bridges) White passed away on May 10, 2020. Proud to be a Native Texan, she was born February 29, 1932 in Vernon, Texas, to Osa and Jewel Bridges. After graduating from Vernon High School in 1949, she attended North Texas State University (now the University of North Texas).
Sue was married to her loving husband, Dan White, for 67 years. She was the backbone of her family showing her strength and resilience through her kidney transplant 19 years ago as well as her fight with bladder cancer, and its related complications, 6 years ago. She was always looking forward to the bright days ahead.
Having been blessed to be born on Leap Day, Sue enjoyed only having a birthday every four years. Her love of travel brought her to all 50 states. Annually, a family vacation was taken to celebrate the anniversary of her kidney transplant.
Sue is survived by her husband, daughter Stacy White, sister Jo McCrary, niece Marilyn Jackson, nephew Mark McCrary, great-niece Betsy McBee as well as numerous cousins and good friends.
The family would like to thank Dr. David Nesser and the staff at the Dallas Transplant Institute for their care and concern during these past 20 years.
A graveside service will be held at Restland Cemetery on Wednesday May 20, 2020 at 1:00.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Southwest Transplant Alliance or the National Kidney Foundation.
