Ms. Susan Jan Gipson's Obituary
Jan Gipson left her earthly body to be with her Lord on January 25, 2023.
Jan was born September 25, 1949 in Leesville, Louisiana to Don and Wanda Smith. She was raised in Shreveport. Soon after moving to Dallas, she met Danny Gipson and they were married Oct. 7, 1969. They had two children, Brandi (1970) and Shilo (1973).
In the mid 70s they joined First Baptist Garland, where they were active members for many years. Jan worked as a preschool teacher at First Baptist Garland for over 20 years. They have been members of Gateway Community Church in Wylie for several years.
Jan is survived by her husband, Danny; son, Shilo; daughter and son-in-law Brandi and Rusty Primm, brother, Pete Smith, sisters-in-laws Jan Smith, Irene Smith, Karen Smith, and Jean Gipson and many nieces and nephews.
Jan was preceded in death by her parents Don and Wanda Smith and John and Ruby Dell Gipson and brothers, Mike Smith, David Smith, and Jerry Gipson.
