Susan Gail Marquardt (Schmalenbach) 76 of Garland, TX passed away on June 13, 2026, in Dallas, Tx. She was surrounded by her loving family. Susan was born in Omaha, NE. on May 8, 1950, to the late Peter Schmalenbach and Dorothy Jane Madsen.
Susan met her husband Jerry G. Marquardt of 51 years on September 1, 1973. She became a mother of twins April and Jerry on August 24, 1974, On June 14, 1975, she married her husband Jerry G. Marquaardt. They lived in Omaha, Ne until April 1, 1982. On April 1, 1982, Susan and Jerry moved to Dallas, Tx. She lived a life filled with kindness, laughter, adventure, and unwavering devotion to those she loved. She loved camping, sharing stories, celebrating milestones, or simply enjoying being with her family and friends. She loved to travel, especially to good old Nebraska, a place that always held a special place in her heart. Known for her gentle spirit, caring nature, and welcoming smile, Susan had a way of making everyone feel loved. Her favorite color was red. Her favorite flower was yellow roses, reflecting the warmth, joy, and brightness she brought into the lives of others.
She will be forever loved, deeply missed, and never forgotten.

She is survived by her loving husband Jerry G. Marquardt, daughter April Conway and son in law Scott Conway, son Jerry A. Marquardt and daughter in law Ashley Marquardt, her beloved dog Bully. Brother Mike Farmer (Nebraska) and her sister Kathy Buhr (Nebraska). She’s also survived by her Best Friend Darlene Pirtle. She had 12 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her father Peter Schmalenbach, Brother Peter Paul Schmalenbach, Birth mother Dorothy Jane Madsen, stepmother Judy Schmalenbach, Sister Maureen Lambrect.
