Suzanne P Hailstone's Obituary
Suzy Hailstone, Dallas, passed away with family at her side July 1, 2022. Suzy was born on her family farm in Paris, Illinois in 1929. She graduated from Paris High School in 1947 and attended Indiana State Business School. Suzy married Gene Hailstone in 1950 and they lived in Speed, Indiana for 16 years before moving to Dallas in 1968. Suzy dedicated herself to the loving and nurturing of her family. She loved being a homemaker and all that it entailed. Her hobby was playing duplicate bridge. She held the rank of Silver Life Master.
Suzy is preceded in death by her parents, Willard and Daisy Potts, brother, Willard J. Potts, Jr. and the love of her life Gene Hailstone. Gene and Suzy’s first date occurred on a bicycle built for two and they rode in tandem gracefully during their 69 years of marriage.
Suzy is survived by children and spouse, Amy Cannady, Dallas, Tom (Kim) Hailstone, Culpeper, Virginia, Steve Hailstone, Frisco. She is also survived by grandchildren and spouses, Hannah Ferguson (Searcy) Dallas, Molly Rhodes(Thomas) Dallas, Sarah Minton (Jake) Dallas; Rachel, Brooke and Luke Hailstone Dallas, and beloved sister-in-law Carolyn Flock, Ft. Wayne, Indiana.
Seven great-grandchildren blessed "Mimi’s" life; Ella and Searcy Ferguson, Jackson, Tucker and Jonathan Rhodes and Poppy and Lincoln Minton. Beloved wife, mother, and grandmother, Mimifilled our heans with a loving and gentle kindness that we will carry with us forever.
A private family Celebration of Life will be held at a later date and she will be inurned with "Poppy" at First United Methodist Church of Richardson where they were members since 1970. Any memorials may be made to the Building Fund of FUMC of Richardson, TX, PO Box 830877.
