Suzie J. Penry's Obituary
Suzie Jean Penry, born December 30, 1952 in Deport, TX. Passed away August 21, 2015 with her family around her. Suzie heard the calling of the church at an early age of 16. She found that she enjoyed the children most of all. Even though she never married or had any children of her own, she loved working with the bus ministry for the New Life Tabernacle. Always the one that did more than was necessary for the children, whether it was the snacks she made for the kids on the bus or the peanut brittle they all made to sell. Suzie was involved in several different programs the church had or just wherever she was needed or she saw that help was needed. She was always putting others before herself. She was a wonderful person with the Love of god and the joy of family in her heart. Graduating from Brian Adams High School in 1971 she wanted to be a nurse and went on to be a Medical Assistant but never was hired, they said “she was too nice”. She worked for 30 years for Crum & Forster till she became ill. Suzie made several friends throughout the years. Suzie always professed that all she needed was ” a good job, a good car, and to have fun”! She is survived by her Mother Suzie Penry of Garland,TX, Sister Darlene Golson of Wylie,TX, Sister Paula (Duane) Colegrove of Garland TX, Brother Joseph Penry of Baraboo WI, Brother David (Deanna) Penry of Baraboo WI, 7 Nephews, 9 nieces, one of which, Suzie was always “Mommy Aunt” for she raised her like a Daughter. 7 great nephews, 8 great nieces, various cousins, friends and extended family. She was preceeded in death by both maternal and paternal grand parents, Father George, and a sister, Mary. She will be greatly missed. In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations towards the funeral expenses would be greatly appreciated.
