What a beautiful day to go to heaven, for such a sweet Mom…….My deepest sympathy and love to you and your family.
What can you say in a few words about someone that you have known your entire life? I don't remember when, but I started calling her "Red". She answered to it and even referred to herself that way. Others began calling her that as well. She has scolded me, whipped me, comforted and held me. She did what Grandmothers do. If I was able to rate her, she was at least a 10. We took trips together, just us. I can't say that anyone else ever did that, except my Dad once. She was proud of me and prayed for me. I deserved every scolding and whipping and quite a few more that I didn't get. And I will tell the younger generation that you don't ever want to have to go pick out your own switch… That's a thin limb off of a tree, usually a willow, thin and flexible. Left the kind of marks that would get someone arrested today… In her final days, she said that she was ready to go. She said that she couldn't understand why the Lord wouldn't take her. My Mom said, Because He is preparing your house and he is not quite finished. It must be some kind of house! Grandmother laughed and said, Yeah. I'm a special person because of her influence directly and indirectly through the way she raised my Mom. I loved her so. I can't wait to see her mansion…
Don and Pat, My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family during this difficult time. I have very fond memories of Sunday dinners and exciting domino games. Grandmother Sybil "Red" always had a lot of wisdom to share. I will always remember her powerful spirit, wonderful smile and words of encouragement. May she rest in peace and enjoy her reunion with her husband and her other children. Love Cheryl
Dear Rod, Jackie, and family, My condolences and prayers will be with you now. Be strong for each other. Your beloved grandmother is in a wonderful place where she will be smiling down on you always. Love, Gina
