Sybil Katheryn Weaver's Obituary
Sybil Katheryn Weaver “Kitty”, 103, of Dallas, Texas passed away December 12, 2018, in Dallas, Texas of natural causes. She was born February 15, 1915, to E.C. Spears and Lela Cox in Texarkana, Arkansas.She loved life. Being blind from age 6, and deaf toward the end, did not deter the vigor with which she pursued her interests. She played the piano, organ and accordion, was a prize-winning knitter, took courses in French, Spanish, Bible Study, and the abacus. She and D.F. rode their tandem bicycle almost daily, and traveled the world, played cards and bingo and were always ready for something new. Plus, she kept house and raised three children. There were many distant friends that she regularly corresponded with for many years. Everyone who knew her loved her dearly.She married D.F. on January 8, 1941, in Dallas, Texas. She worked as a Braille Proofreader for Library of Congress for many years and Visual Aid Volunteers. She was a member of the National Federation of the Blind and Several Local Clubs/Organizations over the years. She is preceded in death by her husband D.F. and sons Norman Weaver and John Weaver. She is survived by her daughter Annette Krell, of Dallas, Texas.Visitation for Mrs. Sybil Katheryn Weaver will be held Monday, December 17, 2018, from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM. Funeral Services will be held Monday, December 17, 2018, at 2:00 PM at Restland Funeral Home located at 13005 Greenville Ave Dallas, Texas 75243.Funeral arrangements for Ms. Sybil Katheryn Weaver have been faithfully entrusted to Restland Funeral Home and Cemetery, which is located at 13005 Greenville Ave., at the intersection of Restland Road, Dallas, Texas 75243, and can be reached at (972) 238-7111.I’d also like to thank the hospice personnel from the bottom of my heart. They were amazing.
