Syble Richardson Clark's Obituary
Sy Richardson Clark of Dallas, Texas passed away on Monday, January 7, 2013. She was born in Jacksboro, Texas on July, 6 1924. She attended Texas Christian University. After relocating to Dallas, Sy opened Mrs. Richardson’s School with her mother, the late Sue Richardson. The preschool and kindergarten opened its doors in 1956, and Sy continued to work there until her late seventies. She took pride in the fact that her two daughters and two of her granddaughters worked with her at Mrs. Richardson’s School. Sy was an active member of Lover’s Lane United Methodist Church. She had a love or the arts and was involved in many charitable organizations including The Dallas Museum of Arts, The Dallas Opera Guild, The Crystal Charity Ball and the Cattle Baron’s Ball. She was also a member of Who’s Who International. During her lifetime, Sy took much pleasure from traveling, visiting places all over the world. She once said that traveling was as important as obtaining a college degree. Her family was always the most important part of her life. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Sy is survived by her daughter, Jimmye Sue and her husband Key Puckett, her son, Jonathan “Buddy” Clark and his wife Carol, and her daughter, Starr and her husband Cody Buck. She was blessed to have 8 grandchildren including the late Key Puckett III, Amy Clark, Cindy Calvert, Jonathan Clark, Dylan Buck, Austin Buck, Kodie Nicole Buck and Stephanie Sheff. Sy also had six great grandchildren. Sy was a beautiful person. She was blessed with and incredible presence and many close friendships throughout her life. Memorial gifts may be made to Cancer Support Community N. Texas (formerly Gilda’s Club) at One Works of Grace Plaza, 2710 Oak Lawn Ave., Dallas, TX 75219. Services will be held on Saturday, January 12, 2013 at 3:00 PM in Restland Wildwood Chapel.
