Syble Ora Gray Reid's Obituary
Syble Ora Gray Reid, born to James Burlon Gray and Erna Adnah Seab on March 13, 1941, passed away peacefully on March 17, 2025, in Hurst, TX. Syble joins her husband Jackie, her brother Dennis, and her daughter Denise in death and is survived by her lifelong companion, John, with whom she shared many wonderful years. She is also survived by her son Randy, her stepdaughter Shannon and her grandchildren Mycahla, Hunter, Everleigh, and Adalyn who lovingly called her Nana. Her family describes her as loyal, loving, devoted, and strong qualities that made her the heart of their family.
Syble encouraged others to pursue their dreams and was always a champion for the arts. She was passionate about dancing to country music on the weekends. She was also a skilled and competitive pool player, a formidable member of a local pool club where few dared to challenge her. Syble enjoyed gardening and sewing beautiful clothes for her loved ones. She also enjoyed shopping and was a dedicated supporter of the New Orleans Saints, always rooting for them, no matter the season.
Syble was always there for her family, selflessly driving to concerts, choir and orchestra performances, and karate tournaments, no matter the time or distance. As a devoted member of the Church of Christ, she had an unyielding faith in God, no matter the challenges she faced.
Syble loved the holidays and enjoyed hosting and cooking for anyone who gathered around her table. She took great pride in decorating her home for every occasion, always going all out, and even matching her earrings to the theme. Her impeccable sense of style and grace were evident in all that she did.
Syble will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who knew and loved her. Her legacy of love, strength, devotion, and faith will continue to inspire her family and friends.
Her family requests that those attending the funeral services wear spring colors, as black is against the dress code. For service details, please contact the immediate family personally.
