Sydney radiated kindness. She was so wise beyond her years. Authentically herself which in this world is refreshing. I met Syd at a Beyonce concert, where else! She was humble, caring, and calm (a quality you rarely find in a VIP section before Beyonce takes the stage). Syd and I stayed in touch over the years and it’s hard to put into words the way she makes you feel. But the best way to describe it is at peace. She made me feel comfortable in spaces I didn’t. She was supportive. I just know that she was loyal to all her people and was everyone’s highest cheerleader.

Our hearts are broken for your family's loss. Sydney was a beautiful shining light and I know her loss will leave a huge void in so many people's lives. We love you all and pray God will comfort your hearts and all those that loved Sydney.

I had the pleasure of working with Sydney at SHI for around 2 years. We were in the same hiring class and started a women’s small group together and invited women from around the company to have a safe space to share and talk about their faith. Every day Sydney showed up to work and that group with such positivity and wisdom. When Sydney went to pursue her dreams at flight school we were so so proud of her but her presence was missed dearly. God calls us on earth to go and make disciples and Sydney lived that out to the fullest. One time in our group we chatted around what qualities stood out about each other. Below is a picture of Sydney’s qualities that the group decided. Wise, strong, determined, passionate, facilitator, listener, encourager, and grounded. I am so so grateful to have known her.
Sweet, sweet girl... I know your wings are spread wide and you're listening to a little Bey. Not to worry... I'll handle Joe, when he comes for the hive, this Thanksgiving. You will be missed... but thought of fondly. Lots of love.
