Sylvia Diane Babin's Obituary
Sylvia Diane Babin, 83, of Bedford, Tx passed away peacefully into the arms of Jesus on May 14, 2021. Diane was a loving wife, mother, sister and grandmother “MoMo” to her family and cherished her time with them while here on this earth.
A Celebration of Life is scheduled for 11:00 am on Monday, May 24th at Restland Funeral Home and Cemetery located at 13005 Greenville Ave, Richardson, Tx. A private burial service for the family will be held earlier that morning at Restland.
Diane was born on December 9th, 1937 in Grand Saline, Tx to parents Miller and Ann Gray. The family moved to Garland, Tx when Diane was in the 6th grade. Diane graduated from Garland High School in 1956 and participated in several school activities and clubs. Following her graduation from high school Diane attended Baylor University.
Diane raised two daughters in Garland, Tx and had a love for making a home and caring for her family. She enjoyed baking, sewing, entertaining, teaching Sunday school and working with the youth at Calvary Baptist Church in Garland. In 1984 Diane and her husband George relocated to Taylors, South Carolina with George’s job. They quickly made many great friendships in Taylors and were active in the community of Brushy Creek Baptist Church. Although they loved Taylors, in 2007 following George’s retirement they moved back to McKinney, Tx to be closer to family. Diane was a gentle spirit with a heart for people and loved baking her special pies for her family and friends. Diane was a strong child of God who will be greatly missed here on this earth by all who were blessed to have known her.
She was preceded in death by her parents Miller Gray and Dick and Ann Carpenter.
Survivors include her husband George Babin of Bedford, Tx; two daughters Rogane Christal and husband Joel of Katy, Tx and Angela Stilson and husband Brian of Colleyville, Tx; one sister, Linda Broyles and husband Jobie of Howe, Tx; Stepson Greg Babin and wife Nicole of Woodworth, LA; five grandchildren, Hailee Davis, Matthew Stilson, Chase Christal, Andrew Stilson, Brieanna Stilson; two great-grandchildren, Laney Davis, Carter Christal; three step-grandchildren, Katy, Brooke and Hannah Babin;
The family suggests memorials be made to the Focus on the Family Ministry by calling 1-800-A-Family (1-800-232-6459) from 7 am – 9 pm M-F
