Sylvia Joy Penn's Obituary
Sylvia Joy Penn, 88 of Keene, Texas passed away on July 30, 2013. She was born August 1, 1924 in Valdasta, Texas to Jeff Karnaghan and Mamie Oline Combest Anderson. She was a homemaker and also a devoted wife and a loving mother and grandmother. Sylvia is survived by her husband, Roy Lee Penn of 69 years; daughters: Carol and husband Darrell Lummus, Sylvia and husband Blanfard Perry, Kay and husband William McCormick; five grandchildren: Maria Lummus of Euless, Texas, April and husband Eric Jupiter of Houston, Texas, Michael and wife Leslie McCormick of Allen, Texas, John Paul and wife Tracy McCormick of Plano, Texas, and Michael Penter of Plano, Texas; two great-granddaughters: and her beloved Pomeranian, Gigi. She is preceded in death by her parents, Jeff Karnaghan and Mamie Oline Karnaghan Anderson. The family would like to express their grateful appreciation to the angels of Community Hospice of Texas who ministered to Joy. Visitation will be from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Thursday, August 1, 2013 at Restland Funeral Home. A graveside service will be held Friday, August 2, 2013 at 10:00 AM at Restland Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that a donation be made to Community Hospice of Texas, 1208 W. Henderson Street Suite B, Cleburne, Texas 76033.
