Taher Mohammad Abughazaleh's Obituary
After a long struggle with Alzheimer’s, Taher Mohammad Abughazaleh passed away peacefully surrounded by his family at Medical City in Frisco, Texas on July 6, 2017. He was laid to rest at Restland in Dallas, Texas on July 7, 2017. Taher was born in Jerusalem on March 24, 1932 and fell in love with America while attending George Williams College where he attained both BA and MBA degrees. He married his loving wife Suad on August 24, 1958 and was happily married for almost 59 years. The couple had three children, Aladin, Abeer, and Amer. Taher and Suad were devoted to each other throughout the years, and credited the strong marriage to their faith, laughter, patience and mutual respect. After attaining his BA, Taher and Suad resided in Kuwait where he opened the first American-style supermarket. Upon attaining his MBA, he accepted a position as Managing Director of Gulf International and relocated his family to the United Kingdom. Taher was a citizen of the world and travelled extensively during his tenure with Gulf International. Taher and Suad returned to the US in 1977 where he developed and managed various real estate ventures including the Baltimore Hilton. Taher and Suad became Naturalized American Citizens in the early 1980s. After retiring, Taher turned his attention to philanthropy and supporting causes that aligned with his values and faith. Despite his many accomplishments, family was the primary focus of his life. Taher is preceded in death by his father Mohammad, mother Fatima, and six siblings. He is survived by his loving wife Suad, children, Aladin, Abeer, and Amer, grandchildren, Samir, Ramzi, Salem and Katherine, great-grandchild Jasmine, four siblings, and countless nieces and nephews.
