Tamara Jo Utt's Obituary
Tamara Jo “Tammy” Utt, age 61, passed away peacefully in her home on September 12, 2021 in Carrollton, Texas.
Affectionately known as Tamara Jo, Tammy , Tammy Jo , Big Moose , TJ, George Jr! Tammy was born in Albuquerque, New Mexico on July 3, 1960. She smiled with her eyes. Her greatest joys in life were her two beautiful children Collin and Amber, as well as her grandchildren, Jack and Emma. Tammy was best known for her sense of humor and witty comebacks. She loved to laugh and even more to make people laugh. No one could make her dad laugh more than she could. Much like her mother, Tammy knew no stranger. Her compassion ran deep which was obvious as she collected friends and furry animals who were in need of love and care along the way. Tammy’s memory and ability to read a room was unmatched. These qualities made her a natural salesperson. Tammy loved being a bartender.. Not because she could make fancy drinks but because she was a great listener. She knew what each of her regulars needed, to feel seen and understood. And boy was she savvy! Tammy could somehow figure out how to get her way in any circumstance. She knew how to keep her mom and dad on their toes as she never played by the rules. Since she was a little girl, she made up her own rules and had the broken bones to prove it.
Tammy provided laughter, love, and memories her family and friends will cherish forever.
She is survived by her daughter Amber Ellison (Mark); son Collin Crume (Kate); grandchildren Jack and Emma Ellison; mother Georgia Ann Utt; sisters Trina Utt, Debbie Essary, Leslie O’Neill (David), Kimla Townson (Kevin); nieces and nephews Mark Essary (Ali), Tess Trahern (Trent), Kallie Essary, Kara Wentz (Garrett), Harper O’Neill; two grand nephews Graham and Waylon, as well as her loving puppy, Lillie Jo.
She is preceded in death by her father Donald Wayne Utt, brother Donald “Donnie” Utt, and brother-in-law Thierry Essary.
A memorial service will be held at Restland Memorial Chapel Saturday, September 25th at 10 am. 13005 Greenville Avenue Dallas, TX 75243 (Masks are strongly encouraged.)
In lieu of flowers, please consider making a memorial donation, in Tammy’s name, to Furry Friends Animal Rescue (FFAR) at furryfriendsanimalrescue.org/donate.
