Tanner Carlton McCalment's Obituary
With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Tanner McCalment, the young man with a knack for fixing things and the biggest giving heart. His boundless generosity and love knew no bounds, but alas, his heart could no longer give all that it had. Tanner peacefully entered the arms of the Lord on February 16, 2024, at the age of 24.
Tanner, known for his grease-stained hands and tireless work ethic, followed in his father's footsteps as a mechanic at Firestone. Just a week after celebrating his 18th birthday, Tanner began his journey with Firestone, where he quickly became an invaluable member of the team. While his vibrant personality may have tested the patience of his superiors and coworkers at times, they knew they could always rely on Tanner for top-notch repairs. His impact on the automotive community and the friendships he forged there were immeasurable. The friendships he formed while working at Firestone were truly solid. Outside of work, Tanner had the best of friends and too many to mention. He had what we considered a big brother in Chase Bickel, and they were truly blessed to have that bond.
Beyond his work, Tanner was the cherished only child of Eric and Angie McCalment, a source of endless pride for his family. He was a momma’s boy for sure, while also being a mirror of his father. He had the best sense of humor, his daily phone calls and regular visits with his parents are great memories to carry them through this. He shared a special bond with his grandparents, Gene and Nancy Blackmore, Angela Wixson, and Robert and Carol McCalment who showered him with love and support throughout his life. His uncle Ron Blackmore and Aunt Susan were not only relatives but also cherished mentors and confidants. Uncle Ron was the one to turn to in challenging moments for the best answers and advice. His Aunt Natalie McCalment was also always right by his side and supportive.
In matters of the heart, Tanner found his forever love in Lissette Rivadeneyra, his high school sweetheart turned fiancée. Their love story, which began in 2017, was nothing short of a fairytale, and their families embraced each other as their own. Their relationship blossomed into a beautiful union that brought together two families as one. Together, they created a loving home with their cherished mini fur babies, Cooper, and Luna. While Tanner's passing leaves a void in the hearts of his loved ones, but his memory will continue to shine brightly in their lives.
Friends and family are invited to pay their respects at a service in memory of Tanner on March 2nd at Restland Cemetery 13005 Greenville Ave, Dallas, TX 75243. In line with Tanner's wishes for a casual gathering and celebration of his life, attendees are encouraged to wear the colors of his beloved Kansas City Chiefs: Red, Yellow, Black, and White. Instead of somber attire, let's honor Tanner's spirit with the vibrant hues he loved. Red supports his team and his huge heart! While there won't be a formal reception, for those who wish to support the family with meals can send them via DoorDash to Angie McCalment (via text at 469-233-3470).
Tanner McCalment may no longer walk among us, but his legacy of love, kindness, and unwavering determination will forever be remembered. He fought bravely until his last breath.
Rest in peace, Tanner, knowing that you touched the lives of all who had the privilege of knowing you.
