Taylor AlexXandria Jeter's Obituary
In Dallas, Texas on July 10, 2022, Taylor AlexXandria Jeter passed away at the young age of 32 following a 17-year battle with cancer. Throughout the long battle, she never stopped fighting and she has taught everyone who knows her the definition of perseverance and resilience.
While her disease was cruel, Taylor never once complained. She took every challenge in stride and went on to continue an adventurous life. Married on July 23, 2014 in Venice, Italy, she and her husband, Chris Jeter, led a life of wanderlust. The two travelled to 30 countries, with Taylor’s favorite being Germany and Japan.
Taylor was a fiercely loyal friend to everyone she held dear. She did all things with grace and compassion and always took pride in her family. A style icon in both fashion and home interiors, she was always fabulous. With her creative touch, she left the world a more beautiful place.
Taylor is survived by her husband, Chris Jeter, and daughter, Winna Jean (9 Mos.); parents Carrie Tillotson and Brad Tillotson; brothers Toran (Michaella) Tillotson and Tuff (Tyler) Tillotson; grandfather Larry Ainsworth; and grandmother Betty Tillotson. She was predeceased in death by her grandfather Brad Tillotson Sr. and grandmother Winna Jean Ainsworth.
Taylor’s first love was helping young people discover a passion for learning. After graduating from Oklahoma University, she joined Teach for America, where she taught in Title One schools. While teaching, she attended Southern Methodist University to obtain her Masters Degree. After earning her Masters of Education, with an emphasis on Literacy, she went on to teach at Armstrong Elementary in Highland Park. Her real passion was literacy and will be remembered by hundreds of students as a warm and kind teacher.
In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to one of Taylor’s favorite schools, Uplift Atlas (formerly Peak). Uplift Atlas was established as Uplift Peak in 2004 and is the 2nd oldest school in the Uplift network. Located in East Dallas, the school has unique ties with the neighborhood, and many scholars stay at the school from kindergarten through 12th grade. One hundred percent of the class of 2021 was accepted into college. Taylor was proud of and had faith in every student that walked through the doors.
