Teresa Laraba's Obituary
Teresa Laraba was born on October 22, 1962 in Birmingham, AL. On December 25, 2015, Teresa Laraba passed away in her home in Dallas, TX. Teresa was the youngest daughter of four to her parents, Thomas & Katherine Berkstresser. She is survived by her daughters Catherine and Heather Laraba and their father, Brad Laraba. Teresa Laraba graduated from Plano Senior High School and attended universities such as, University of Texas at El Paso and Texas Tech University. She started working at Southwest Airlines in El Paso, TX in 1984 as a part time customer service agent. She spent 31 years working and growing up with her second family, the Southwest Airlines family. Teresa was recently announced as the new, Senior Vice President of Customers & Culture for Southwest Airlines due to her hard work and her heart for the company and everything valued at the airline. Teresa Laraba wholeheartedly believed in The Golden Rule, “Treat others as you wish to be treated”. The Golden Rule dictated every decision, every action, and every memory left by Teresa. She lived out every aspect of her life in a manner of love and laughter. She expected the best and gave her all to her co-workers, friends, and family. Her family knew her as “Mother Teresa” and her Southwest family knew her as “T”. She was an incredible success story in the airline industry, but she will always be remembered as the most loving, humble, and self less mother her daughters could have ever asked for. Teresa Laraba’s viewing will be held Wednesday, December 30, 2015 from 6:00 – 8:00PM and her life will be celebrated the following Thursday, December 31, 2015 at 11AM at Restland Funeral Home, 13005 Greenville Avenue, Dallas, TX 75243.
