Teri Williams' Obituary
Teri Williams was born in Youngstown OH May 29th 1958 to Barbara A. Bailey and James P. Hubbard. Teri was a quiet kid who loved to read books and get lost in the adventures of where they would take her. As a kid she kepted to herself and would bribe her sister Joann with money to do her chores, lol. My Aunt did not mind at all, lol. She was a small little thing and would often get teased and called Olive Oyl from Popeye, lol. But she didn't mind, it made her have tough skin. At the age of 16 my mother left Ohio to embark on a better life in Atlanta Georgia where she stayed with an Uncle and worked numerous jobs. My mother was a extremely hard worker and whatever she had her mind set on to accomplish and achieve, she did! She attended college in the field of Computer Programming. Working during the night, studying and tending classes during the day, and all the while at 25 taking care of me. She graduated college top of her class with a degree in Computer Programming, and she took off in that Career Field. She pushed passed barriers and achieved goals in a field at the time wasn't meant for women. She worked hard, stayed knowledgeable about her career, and sacrificed a lot most wouldn't. She took a leap of faith and applied for a job in Richardson Texas at Blue Cross Blue Shield. All that hard work paid off, she got the job. When she was promoted to IT Manager for Blue Cross Blue Shield. I remember getting the call and she was crying because she was so happy she finally made it! I was and had always been proud of her. And will continue to be. When she did have free time she definitely loved to travel, whether to Mexico, a Cruise to the Caribbeans or California; she did not hesitate to hit the roads and enjoy life and just live. My mother was fortunate enough to be able to retire early, and she did just that in 2014. She enjoyed her time retired watching Cooking shows, Reading, Cooking, and an occasional trip or two. She leaves behind 1 daughter Tiffany D. Williams, 2 sisters Joann Mckenzie and Michelle Mckenzie, and 1 brother Wayne Mckenzie. She will forever be lovingly remembered by close friends and colleagues. I will miss and love her forever.
