Terri Gotcher George's Obituary
For 61 years Terri was in this world serving God with the trust of love and dedication to her husband, family, friends, and community. Terri’s bright green eyes and beautiful dimpled smile will remain in the hearts of all that knew her.Terri was a devoted wife to Dennis George, her best friend and the love of her life in this mortal journey. Her love for her family was steadfast; to her daughter Amber, son-in-law Andrew and her three grandchildren, Avery, Aidan and Austin she gave abounding love and laughter. She especially loved to shower her grandchildren with gifts, attention, treats, humor, and joy. When she visited them she often spent hours engaging them in laughter and card games. To her sister, Sherri, brother Cary, his wife Vickie and extended family, she gave endless love and friendship through examples of true human qualities.Terri was born in Plainview, Texas to Ray and Rita Gotcher. She graduated from Irving High School in 1974. After graduation, she traveled the country by bus singing with the New Hope Choir. Terri always had a beautiful singing voice and a love of country music. Terri met Dennis George in Dallas, Texas and they were married in 1982. They recently celebrated their 36th wedding anniversary. Terri and Dennis loved to travel together, attend sporting events together and laugh together. They had pending plans to move to Belize and build a bed and breakfast.Terri had a long career with American Airlines and loved flying the friendly skies with her American Airlines family. Terri graduated from American Airlines flight attendant school in 1980 and proudly wore her wings for 35 years. When Terri wasn’t flying for work or fun, she was serving as a mentor and friend to the women at Maggie’s House where she found an internal sense of peace and redemption.Although it ended too soon, Terri Gotcher George had a beautiful life surrounded by a loving husband, family, and friends and will be greatly missed. We are blessed to know that Terri had an immense love of Christ in her heart. We lift her up in transition as she begins her journey with Him in Heaven.A memorial service will be held in Terri’s honor Saturday, April 7, 2018, at 2:30 pm at the Restland Memorial Chapel located at 13005 Greenville Avenue, Dallas, Texas 75243.
