I just learned Dr Allen passed away last December. He was my Urologist back in the 60’s during my childhood. I spent many days under his care there at Children’s Hospital in Dallas. I will forever remember him as the greatest doctor I’ve had during my life. RIP Dr. Allen.
Condolences to you, Carolyn, and your family. I had the great honor to work with Dr. Allen in his practice at Children’s Medical Center from the early 90’s through to his retirement as his nurse in the clinic. He was the kind of doctor you would want your own children to see. He was compassionate, easy going and had a great sense of humor. He assisted me by sharing his wealth of knowledge and empowered me in my role. He always had a hunger to learn new things and it was infectious! My life was made better though working with him. RIP Dr. Terry Allen. I met Dr. Allen when I was a medical student and he may have been at that time the only other Urology faculty member besides Dr. Paul Peters. He was an early person to make Pediatric Urology a specialty. I spent time over many years with him at Urology grand rounds and other Urology meeting. A fine gentleman and one who taught me many lessons that I have faithfully passed on to others.
