Terry Haynes' Obituary
Terry Haynes, 83, a former 60-year resident of Irving, Texas, left his earthly home & was welcomed into Heaven by his Lord & Savior, Jesus Christ surrounded by his family on January 15, 2023, at the home of his daughter & son-in-law's home in Royse City, Texas. Terry was born in Springhill, Louisiana on April 6, 1939, to Reuel & Easter (Dees) Haynes.
He married the love of his life, Ann (Wright) Haynes November 11, 1961. Their daughter, Robin Rene, was chosen by them in October 1968, then their son, Kevin Klay was born February 1971. Terry & Ann had several businesses, but the one he was known for was the snowcone business. They owned 8 trucks & came home late most nights to count sticky bills with sticky, stained hands from the day's sales!
Terry was a craftsman of his own making, he could remodel any room, make beautiful cabinets, and make anything out of wood. He loved to hunt everything, fish, & play golf. He had a passion for growing fruits & veggies.
Terry also taught himself how to play the guitar, piano, fiddle, mandolin & harmonica to name a few. He never could read music but played them all by ear. He had a beautiful voice & loved to sing. He wrote many songs, but loved to sing the songs of his heroes, Merle Haggard, George Jones, & Hank Williams. He had a country band named “Texas”. Oh, how he loved to play with those guys. They had so much fun!
He taught his grandkids Justin & Miranda to love God, work hard, & to be thankful for what they have. He was often called “Bald Headed Papa” and he often called Miranda when she was young “Matilda Ann Sue”! Terry was so proud to be a great Papa to Blaize & Lilliana.
Terry was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Sonny (Lola) Haynes; 3 sisters, Mary Ann (A.V.) Ball, Bobbie (Leslie) Jackson, & Lovey Haynes; in-laws, Sid & Marguerite Wright; nephews, Paul Haynes & David Haynes; nieces, Gloria Waller & Sherri Rockett; 2 brothers-in-law, Jim (Bonnie) & Lloyd Wright; & son-in-law, David Andreas.
