Mrs Terry Lynn Tapp's Obituary
Terry Lynn Conley Tapp
Terry L. Tapp, age 68, left this world on Saturday, February 3, 2024, in Plano, Texas. She passed away peacefully and surrounded by her sister, daughter and granddaughter.
She was born to Rudolph Conley Jr. and Louise Holroyd on Saturday July 9, 1955, in Mountain Home, Arkansas. Terry lived all over the United States as a “Navy brat” during childhood, spent her young adult years in Ramona, CA, and finally settled for the remainder of her life in Garland, TX.
When Terry was young, she attended beauty school, loved riding horses, and enjoyed the beaches in San Diego. As she grew older, she enjoyed camping and boating, crafting with anything and everything she could salvage, and refinishing old furniture. Not only did she have an amazing eye for interior design, but her creativity will remain unparalleled. Some of her favorite things were Hawaii, cruises, playing three card poker, plants, and making care packages for family, military, and the homeless.
Terry’s greatest legacy she leaves all of us with is her giving spirit and loving soul. If you were a part of her life, she loved you. If you needed help with anything, she was there to help. If you needed someone to listen, she would be the nurturing mother figure. She loved so hard that no matter whether you sat next to her or were 10,000 miles away, you felt her love and warmth. She saw so much good and love in everyone she knew and for that we are so grateful to have had every moment with her.
Terry is survived by her children Matthew (Joyce) Burton, Jason (Jennifer) Burton, Caroline (William Slattery) Tapp. She had seven grandchildren (Jason Jr., Megan, Jake, Jessica, Gwenn, Paige, and Emma) and two great-grandchildren (Everly and Beau). She also leaves behind her mother Louise Moore; siblings Chris Bryan, Ginger (Alan) Tapps, Carmen Conley-Gallien, and Ralph (Patti) Conley; nieces and nephews Anna, Mary, Jolene, Joseph, Justin, Brenda, and Nathan.
Terry was preceded in death by the love of her life, husband William “Bill” R. Tapp, Father Rudolph Conley Jr., and nephew Jerry Stephenson.
Terry and her family would like to thank the entire Baylor, Scott, and White Plano Oncology team and Texas Oncology for the amazing treatment she received since her diagnosis. Their team from beginning to end was so kind, thoughtful, patient, and loving. Thank you for loving our Terry like she was yours too.
In remembrance of Terry, the family requests that any charitable donations be made to the Texas Oncology Foundation. https://texasoncologyfoundation.org/
