Terrye Smith Reeves' Obituary
Terrye Lynn Smith Reeves, 63, of Plano, TX, passed away on June 19, 2016 in Carrollton, TX. A visitation will be available from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Restland Funeral Home located at 13005 Greenville Ave., Dallas, Texas 75243. In addition, the family would love your attendance at a Celebration of Life service on Saturday morning at 10:30 am at Christ United Methodist Church located at Coit & Parker in Plano, Texas. Arrangements are being handled by Restland Funeral Home. Terrye was born Marinette, WI to Frank E. Smith, Jr. and Clara Mae Smith on 12/30/1952. She grew up in Roswell, NM attending Goddard High School before attending and graduating from Southwestern University in Georgetown, Texas. It was there that Terrye met her soul mate and love of her life, Robert E. Reeves. They were married on June 14, 1975 and just recently celebrated 41 years of marriage. Terrye obtained her bachelor’s degree in elementary education and taught elementary school for several years before dedicating more of her time to her family and various community organizations. She was one of the founders of the Children’s Advocacy Center of Plano. Terrye was a member of PEO, the Order of Eastern Star, Alpha Delta Pi, an active member of Christ’s United Methodist Church as well as the Sanctuary Choir. Terrye also loved to participate in various Southwestern University Alumni activities. Terrye is preceded in death by her parents. Terrye is survived by her loving husband, Robert E. Reeves; her son Christopher E. Reeves, and wife, Carly, and daughter, Clarissa G. Reeves. In addition, she is survived by her brothers Douglas Smith, and wife Jill, and Jeffrey Smith, and wife, Cindy. Terrye is also survived by many other close family and friends. Pallbearers will be Donna Heidenreich, Dana Bilbrey, Annette Swaggerty, Vince Gonnell, Rick Hart and Stan Fisher. Honorary Pallbearers include Judy Armstrong, Barbie Nelson Hart, Kathy Kruse Bryant, Jill Shields Purtee, Alta Featherstone, Cyndy Simons Brown, Janet Barbe Gilbert, Kay Botwinis Cowan, and Becky Gideon Johnson. The family of Terrye Reeves wishes to extend our sincere thanks to Dr. Philip Kovoor as well as the entire medical staff at ICU Baylor Scott & White Medical Center Plano. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Restland Funeral Home and Memorial Park, 13005 Greenville Avenue, Dallas, TX 75243. Memorials may be given to Children’s Advocacy Center of Plano.
