I would like to offer my sincerest condolences regarding Dr Waco's passing. He was my pastor at Central Christian Church in Dallas and he officiated at my wedding. He was a truly a good man always thinking of others and caring about those who had no one to care about them. He was a great guy in every sense of the word. I strongly feel that this world was better with him in it.

My mother, Liz Shotts, worked as Dr. Waco’s secretary in San Angelo in the 1970s. I remember she needle-pointed a Bible cover for him with a verse about God laughing. Years later we ran into him at Tavern on the Green in NYC. I didn’t know the Wacos lived in McKinney. My mom has lived with us in McKinney for the past 18 months. So very sorry to read of the death of your husband, Reverend Dr. Michael Waco. My husband, Rev. Edward Dowell, now deceased, was a friend of his and also a Brite graduate. While Ed was president of Juliette Fowler Homes, your husband participated in the May 1989 dedication of Pearl Nordan Care Center. I know that they were friends over the years. And, of course, I remember Michael's lovely singing voice.

Dr. Waco will be missed by all. My prayers go out to Linda and his two children and family. I always tried to sit in front or behind Michael and Linda in order to hear his amazing voice. I always loved to hear him speak as our guest minister. So very SAD that he was taken too soon. He will be missed!
I am so sad about this loss for not only the Waco family, but for the many families he served and who loved him. His thunderous, yet tender voice brought comfort to a lot of families and he will be remembered for a very long time. I am prayerful that the fact that he brought so much consolation to others will serve as comfort for you during this time.
May God give you peace and keep you in his care.
