Geneva Thell Williams' Obituary
Born on January 05, 1918 to BerThell Elizabeth and Edward Marvin Everitt in Marshall, Texas and passed away Sept. 19, 2014 in Richardson, Texas. In the 1920s her family moved to Edinburg, Texas, where her father ran a business and was an active participant in city affairs. A building in Edinburg is named for him. Her mother was employed at the Hidalgo County courthouse. Geneva TheIl graduated with honors from Southwestern University in Georgetown in 1938. In 1940 she married John Wilkinson Williams, who preceded her in death in 1993. She served as secretary to five ministers of First United Methodist Church in Richardson over a period of 25 years. She was a member of that congregation for 54 years. Geneva TheIl is survived by son, Hal Williams and his wife, Judy of Garland; daughter, Jonathell Meyer and her husband, Stephen of Allen; grandchildren, Scott Meyer of McKinney, Jonathan Meyer of Austin, and Holly Williams of Dallas; and four great grandchildren. Geneva TheIl supported several veterans’ charities. Therefore, in lieu flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Fisher House Foundation, which provides free comfort housing to families of veterans being treated at military and VA medical facilities.
