Thelma Gorenflo's Obituary
Thelma “Janette” Gorenflo was born on August 22, 1944, in Dallas, Texas, to Walter and Mary Milburn. She entered eternal rest on July 1, 2026, in Garland, Texas.
Following her graduation from high school, Janette attended business school, where she continued her education before beginning her professional career working for an attorney. She later earned her master’s degree and dedicated the majority of her career as an English and Speech teacher. She also served as an administrator at the University of Houston in Houston, Texas. As a devoted educator, Janette set an example for generations of students through her knowledge, patience, and commitment to excellence. Her passion for learning and helping others left a lasting impression on countless students, colleagues, and friends.
In 1968, Janette married the love of her life, Jon Gorenflo. Together they built a life centered on love, commitment, and family, creating many cherished memories over the years.
Janette’s greatest joys were her family and the success of her students. She is lovingly survived by her devoted husband, Jon Gorenflo, and her beloved son, Douglas, who will forever cherish her experience, encouragement, and unconditional love. She also leaves behind her cherished friends and colleagues from Houston ISD and Garland ISD, along with many former students whose lives she touched throughout her distinguished career.
Janette will be remembered for her intelligence, kindness, dedication to education, and unwavering devotion to her family. Her legacy of compassion, integrity, and a lifelong commitment to learning will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered always.
