Thelma Mae Gray's Obituary
Thelma Gray was born December 26, 1925 in Oxford, Alabama to O.D. Rowe Sr. and Velma Rowe. She was the oldest of ten children.Thelma accepted Christ at an early age and became a member of New Hope Baptist Church in Hobson City, Alabama. There she also attended Calhoun County Trading School. She moved to Texas in 1952. Thelma loved the Lord. She enjoyed spending time with her family, cooking, watching football, and traveling. With only a third grade education she had indescribable accomplishments. She was a house manager for 40 plus years. She worked until the age of 91 and traveled to 19 of the United States. During her journey she touched and encouraged lots of lives. Thelma survived the Great Depression and lived through 16 Presidents.On Friday, January 19, 2018, God called her to rest. No more suffering. She is reuniting with loved ones that have passed before her.She was preceded in death by her parents, O.D. Rowe Sr. and Velma Rowe; her brother, O.D. Rowe Jr, and sisters: Mildred Wilson, Barbara Stoutamire and Doris Jean Phillips.To cherish her loving memory, she leaves: her husband, Arthur Gray of Wylie, TX; her children, Jimmie Rowe (Andrea) of Mckinney, TX, Marilyn Thomas (John) of Anniston, AL, and Twana Williams (Michael) of Murphy, TX; her siblings, Mary Ann Collins of Las Angeles, CA, Annette Walls of Dallas, TX, Joyce Wallace of Dallas, TX, Carol Hill of Dallas, TX, Robert Rowe of Oxford, AL, and Mildred Bryant of Dallas, 10 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends that she loved dearly.A visitation will be held from 6:00 PM – 9:00 PM on Friday, January 26, 2018 at Restland Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, January 27, 2018 at the North Dallas Community Bible Church, 2801 E. President George Bush, Plano, Texas 75074.
