Thelma B. Johnson Henley's Obituary
Thelma Belle Tuggle Johnson Henley was born May 1, 1926 in Myra, Texas (Cooke County) to Charlie and Alma Tuggle, and passed away May 2, 2018. She met and married Roy D. Johnson on February 8, 1946. They had four children, Roy Dale, Charles Paul, Sherry Ann and Mary Lou. Roy passed away on Nov. 22, 1985. She married Hudson Henley in April of 1990. Hudson passed away in November of 2002. He left behind son Pat Henley and daughter Candace Campbell. Survivors of Thelma include her four children and their spouses Ora Johnson (Dale), Vicki Johnson (Charles), and Richard Lyon (Sherry). The seven grandchildren are Jennifer Lyon, David Lyon, Becky Neil, Heather Cooke, April Glorioso-Cruz, Charlie Johnson and Molly Johnson; 12 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren. She also leaves behind two brothers, Felix ( Sonny) Tuggle of Helena, Montana and Delmer Tuggle of Amarillo, Texas, both of whom are here today.Thelma was a long time resident of Dallas and Garland. She spent her final years in Wyoming Springs Assisted Living in Round Rock, Texas, near daughter Sherry and her family.In her younger years Thelma enjoyed ballroom dancing, socializing with friends, gardening and visiting with family. We remember with affection her smile, her laughter, her fun-loving spirit and her love for her cat Maggie. Rest in peace, dear sweet Mother!A funeral service for Mrs. Henley will be held on Saturday, May 5, 2018 at 3:00 PM at Restland’s Wildwood Chapel with interment to follow at Restland Memorial Park.Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Restland Funeral Home and Cemetery, 13005 Greenville Avenue, at Restland Road, Dallas, TX 75243, (972-238-7111).
