Thelma Irene Strickland Seibel's Obituary
Our sweet mother, Thelma Seibel, was born and grew up in Wichita, Kansas. She graduated from East High School in 1938 and Wichita State University in 1942 with a degree in Music Education. She met Charles Seibel in high school, and they were married after college on August 17, 1942. They lived in Pasadena, California where she worked for Boeing Aircraft Company and in Buffalo, New York where she worked for Bell Helicopter. Her son Dave was born in Buffalo in 1945. After the war, in 1945 they returned to Wichita where her daughter Diane was born in 1949. Following several years as a homemaker, Thelma moved to Dallas and worked first as a secretary at Southern Methodist University and then for several years as an office manager for Lincoln National Life Insurance Company. Thelma will be missed by her son Dave and his wife Gayle, her daughter Diane, seven grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren, as well as many friends who also loved her.
