Thelma Maxine Wade's Obituary
Thelma Maxine Wade, age 91, passed away on Tuesday, October 18, 2022, in Cameron, Texas. She was born to William “Buck” Stubblefield Sr. and Permelia Estella Scott Stubblefield, August 12, 1931, in Arp, TX. She was preceded in death by her husband, Curtis L. Wade, Jr.
Maxine is survived by her daughters, Sheryl Jean Wade Lawson (Don Lawson) of Cameron, TX and Rebecca (Becky) Anne Wade Hughes of Denton, TX. She was preceded in death by her son-in-law, Carter Caldwell Hughes.
"Nanny" is survived by her grandchildren: Jennifer Lee Seymour (Jim Hall) of Andover, KS; Robert Wade Seymour (Wendy Seymour) of Andover, KS; Gus Thornton Hughes of Denton, TX; Nelan Rebecca Hughes Dean (Jonathan Dean) of Cookeville, TN; and great-grandchildren: Ellie Ann Brewer of Andover, KS; Carson Del Brewer of Andover, KS; Emma Irene Seymour of Andover, KS; and Curtis Robert Seymour of Andover, KS.
"Mackey" was preceded in death by brothers and sisters: A.W. Stubblefield; William “Buck” Stubblefield Jr.; Kenneth Ray Stubblefield; Jackie Wayne Stubblefield; Howard Dean Cravey; Velma Geraldine Stubblefield Mills (twin); Elizabeth Jane Stubblefield Benge; Blanche Estelle Stubblefield Scott; and Ella Earlene Cravey Freeman. She is survived by sister Dorotha Fae Stubblefield Cain of Henderson, TX.
"Aunt Mackey" will be lovingly remembered by many nieces and nephews, and great nieces and nephews.
Maxine was the last living Charter Member of Waterview Missionary Baptist Church in Richardson, TX. She was a Life Member of Order of The Eastern Star, Richardson Chapter 0921. She loved her family, Bible Study, sewing, knitting, baking, cooking for her family, singing in the Good Samaritan Denton Village Choir, playing card and domino games, and any kind of group activity. She lived out her faith in Jesus Christ by being His hands and feet, serving others any way she could. To know her was to know Jesus.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 22, 2022, from 1:00pm to 2:00pm; with the Service starting at 2:00pm. Both will be held in the Abbey Chapel, located within the Abbey Mausoleum - 13005 Greenville Ave., Dallas, TX 75243
