Theo Lillian Short's Obituary
SHORT, MAJOR THEO LILLIAN Born December 4, 1921 in Pitt County, NC and passed away August 25, 2008 after a short illness. Major Short was commissioned as a Salvation Army Officer in 1943. She served with her husband, Major Robert Short, for more than 40 years as commanding officers of the Salvation Army Centers in Georgia, Alabama and Texas. Both of them served as ministers with The Salvation Army.They were greatly loved by everyone who attended their worship services and by those individuals and families who turned to them in their time of need. She is preceded in death by her parents, Ada Peterson Culbreth and Walter Culbreth; husband, Major Robert Short; brothers, Delma, Joe and Leonard Culbreth and sister, Margaret Adkins. She is survived by her sisters, Lillie C. Jenkins and Myrtle C. McRoy along with several nieces and nephews.
