Theodore E. Gebhardt Sr.'s Obituary
Born in LaGrange, TX, Feb. 28, 1923 to Julius and Hedwig Gebhardt passed away December 15, 2010 from complications of Parkinson’s. A WW II Veteran and fluent in German he served in Army Intelligence and participated in the D-Day invasion of Normandy and the Battle of the Bulge among others. After the war he moved to Dallas and received a degree from SMU. Ted spent 36 years with Republic National Bank in Dallas retiring as Sr. VP of Agra Business. He was an active member of Spring Valley United Methodist Church and served various roles with the church over the years. He is survived by his wife, Catharine (Sittler) of 59 years, his son Ted, Jr. and wife Carla;grandson Ted, III of Dallas along with his sister Catherine of Houston and various nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends on Monday, December 20, 2010 at Restland Funeral Home from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Services will be held 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, December 21, 2010 at Spring Valley United Methodist Church with burial in DFW Cemetery @ 1:15.
