Theodore Albert Royse's Obituary
Royse, Theodore Albert Age 92, Passed away on June 5th, 2009. He was born Nov. 28, 1916 in Elk City, Oklahoma to Samuel Tilden Royse and Emma Elizabeth Hatfield Royse. He was a 1934 graduate of Elk City High School and attended Southwestern State Teachers College in Weatherford, OK 1935-1936. He attended the University of Oklahoma at Norman 1936-1937. He took a BA degree with a major in Journalism from Oklahoma City University in 1940. He married Marilyn Miller Moore in Fort Worth, TX May 10, 1942. He was a civilian flight instructor 1942-1944 and Navy flight instructor 1944-1945. He sold Piper, Stinson and Navion airplanes before becoming manager of the Cody, Wyoming airport . He was editor of the TEMCO Aircraft Corporation employee news publication. He owned Ted’s Texaco service station in Fort Worth. He married Catherine Cecilia O’Hara October 28, 1975. He operated REMA of Oklahoma distributorship and warehouse, retiring in 1990. Ted was known for his wit and sense of humor. He is survived by Marilyn Royse Hardisty, first wife of 32 years and mother of their two daughters; daughters, Cheryl Keen and husband, Richard, Karen Duesman and husband, Leo; grandchildren, Rick Keen and wife, Lisa, Kim Johnson and husband, Eugene, and Sarah Duesman; great grandchildren, Kortney House and husband, Jonathan, Kameron Keen, Brittany Johnson, Brooke Johnson; sister-in-law, Ruby Bozeman Royse, numerous nieces and nephews and many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Catherine O’Hara Royse; sister, Mildred Lucile Stewart, brothers, Paul Hatfield Royse, Samuel Wendell Royse and Kenneth Lowell Royse. Visitation will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M, Monday, June 8 at Restland Funeral Home, Greenville Ave. At Walnut St., Dallas, TX. Services will be held at Restland Wildwood Chapel, Greenville Avenue at Walnut St. at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, June 9, 2009. The family wishes to express our gratitude to the staff at Autumn Leaves Alzheimer’s facility in North Garland for their loving care of our father for the past 2 years.
