Theodore Torbert "Ted" Manning's Obituary
Born December 27, 1924 in Houston, Texas; passed away April 1, 2009 in Plano, Texas. Ted served his country in the U.S.Army. He was a deacon at Prestonwood Baptist Church. He graduated from college with a major in Geo-Physics and later became a manager at Sun Oil Company. Ted is survived by his wife of 18 years, Melva Manning; children, Marcus Alexander and wife Carolyn, Gary Alexander, and Cheryl Parker; grandchildren, Jimmy, Cherie, Joshua, Shannon, Michelle, Justin and Laura; as well as great-grandchildren, Jakob, Grace, Zachery, Chase and Cameron. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Evelyn Manning. Visitation was held from 6:00 to 8:00 pm, Friday, April 3, 2009. A funeral service will be held at 3:30 pm, Saturday, April 4, 2009 in Restland’s Memorial Chapel. Interment will follow in Restland Memorial Park, Court of Veterans II. In lieu of flowers, donations should be made to Visiting Nurse Associations of America (VNAA) 900 19th St, NW, Suite 200 Washington, DC 20006 .
